A gamer online has shared a funny bug fromThe Last of Us Part 1, which appears to trap antagonist David outside his boss area.David is one of the most detailed characters inThe Last of Us Part 1, but it appears at least one thing has slipped the attention of Naughty Dog.

WithThe Last of Us Part 1now over a decade old, there have been a lot of glitches found in the game over the years. Renewed interest in the game due to the HBO adaptation has meant that more players are revisiting it, and as a result even more are being found. Combine that with the release of a particularly broken PC port, and fans have a game with a lot of strange bugs. Recently, onecreepyLast of Us Part 1bug forced Joel to fight an invisible man, so it seems there are a few different glitches that relate to the game’s combat.

Redditor Iamafraidofpeople shared the hilarious image, which shows David trapped outside the restaurant where he and Ellie fight inThe Last of Us Part 1. It’s almost scarier this way, as he resembles a silhouette on the other side of the window. There appears to be no way to kill David in this situation, meaning the game is soft-locked.

One speedrunner in the thread offered up an actual explanation for the strange issue. Apparently, this is what happens when a player reachesEllie and David’s fight inThe Last of Us Part 1too fast. There’s no reason why it happens, but at least it can be easily avoided. Unfortunately, they also claim that to fix the problem, the only solution is to restart the game from a checkpoint. This means that while the bug isn’t game-breaking, it’s certainly frustrating, especially if the last checkpoint was a long time ago.

It’s a strange time to be a fan ofThe Last of Us. Just a few months back, the release of the TV series and the PC port of the original meant that interest in the franchise had never been higher. However, withNaughty Dog delayingThe Last of Us' multiplayer gameand hinting that a new single-player game is in early development, it now seems as though gamers have a long wait before they receive anything new to play. There are several things that could arrive in the meantime. Season 2 of the HBO series could enter production, although that be postponed due to the ongoing writer’s strike. As well as this,The Last of Us Part 2could make its way to PC, with Sony recently reaffirming its commitment to the platform.

The Last of Us Part 1is available on PC and PS5.
