Odyssey Interactive’s free-to-play 3v3 brawlerOmega Strikersnow has a date for when it will release on Nintendo Switch. TheFebruary 2023 edition of the Nintendo Direct showcasetook place on February 8, and a number of upcoming games got a nod during the presentation, most of which were already known to be in development.

The highlight of the showcase for many gamers was undoubtedly theNintendo Direct trailer forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomand its newly announced collector’s edition, Link amiibo, and, perhaps less exciting, $70 price tag. But a number of other titles got trailers as well, includingDead Cells' Return to CastlevaniaDLC,Bayonetta Origins, Metroid Prime Remastered,and the Switch version of 2022’sOmega Strikers.

Omega Strikerslaunched for PC several months ago in open beta, but it will be coming to Nintendo Switch on June 22, 2025, and is already available for preorder from the eShop. An online multiplayer title,Omega Strikershas gamers form two teamsof three players each, selecting from more than 15 different characters called Strikers. Dubbed a “footbrawler” by the developer, the game is lighthearted, letting players throw slime and tofu at each other while avoiding hazards in the arena. Gameplay consists of attempting to send a kind of hockey puck into the opponents’ goal.

Each of thecharacters inOmega Strikershas a different set of abilities and is therefore suited for a particular role in the arena. Juliette, for example, is a Forward and good for offense, but she can work defense thanks to her speed as well. Drek’ar, on the other hand, is useful for sneaking up on enemies and knocking them out with his shotgun, and he also has an attack that does damage over time for added inconvenience to the other team.

WhenOmega Strikerswas first announced, developer Odyssey Interactive stated that, in addition to PC, the game would be coming to mobile devices and home consoles. For now, besides theNintendo Switchedition, it’s unclear if those versions are still on the way or when they might be expected to release. The title is being both developed and self-published by Odyssey, a studio that was founded in 2020 by former employees of Riot Games.

Overall, the February 2023 Nintendo Direct presentation offered a range of genres to satisfy most gamers, from brawlers likeOmega Strikersto puzzle games likeProfessor Layton and the New World of Steam.The release date forPikmin 4was also revealed, along with some of the new features that will be making a debut in the latest entry in the popular franchise.

Omega Strikersis currently available on PC, with a Switch version scheduled for release on August 02, 2025.
