Final Fantasy 14: Endwalkeris officially live, but it has been available in Early Access for a few days now. After a massive explosion of popularity,Final Fantasy 14’sdirector and producer, Naoki Yoshida, has put out a statement explaining details about the various login errors players trying to get in the game have encountered, as well as his plans to alleviate those issues over time.
Players have been battling long queues to get intoFinal Fantasy 14ever since Early Access began, and three error codes have stood in their way: 2002, 3001, and 4004.Error 2002 occurs when more than 17,000 players on a singleFF14data centertry to join the queue, Error 3001 happens when login servers crash from being overloaded by simultaneous logins, and Error 4004 happens when a glitch causes some players in the 100-per-minute admittance flow to be booted from the queue.

Yoshida went into detail about each of these login errors and how to fight them, as well asFinal Fantasy 14’splan of attack to combat server congestion. To battle Error 2002,FF14is deploying backup servers to increase the data center queue maximum to 21,000. Error 4004 just had a fix implemented alongsideEndwalker’srelease, which reduces the number of logins per minute to 75 to relax stress on server systems. It is still looking for ways to fight Error 3001, but has currently pushed its network connections to their maximum output in hopes to prevent it, and hopefully avoid its most heavily-populated worlds crashing.
Player reception toFinal Fantasy 14’s Endwalkerand its release has been overwhelmingly positive. Though queues can be frustrating, the servers themselves have been stable once players are able to get in. The quality ofEndwalkerhas made the wait times more than worth it, and players have appreciatedFinal Fantasy 14’scontinual communication with them.
That said, no one enjoys waiting in long queues. Though players have exercised patience for the most part, it is incredibly frustrating to wait for several hours in queue only to be booted back to the end. Fortunately,Final Fantasy 14’steam is well aware of this, and hopefully the fixes they can implement will see their players’ patience rewarded with less bumps in the road.
