During the keynote address atFinal Fantasy 14’s Fan Fest in Las Vegas,FF14producer and director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida revealed that the critically-acclaimed MMORPG would be crossing over withFall Guyssoon. The surprise collaboration between Mediatonic and Square Enix will bring things to bothFall GuysandFinal Fantasy 14, with a new fame pass forFall Guysand a new Gold Saucer attraction inFF14.
To startFinal Fantasy 14’s Fan Fest keynote,Square Enix pulled back the curtain onFinal Fantasy 14: Dawntrail, the game’s upcoming expansion.Dawntrailwill take players to the land formerly known as the New World, known to the locals as Tural, in what was billed as a “summer vacation” for the Warrior of Light and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn following the events ofEndwalker. With a summer 2024 release window, players will have to wait a little longer to experience the adventure. But, before the expansion is released, fans ofFinal Fantasy 14will have a new diversion to look forward to.

Fall Guys' portion of the collaboration withFinal Fantasy 14will arrive first, starting with a new fame pass running from Tuesday, August 22 to Tuesday, October 3. Available costumes thatFall Guysplayers can earn include the twin characters Alphinaud and Alisaie Leveilleur, as well as Dragoon and White Mage job costumes. ForFall Guysplayers looking for a cuter outfit, costumes featuring a Namazu, Goobbue, Fat Chocobo, and Fat Black Chocobo will also be available. This news comes afterFall Guysrevealed an ongoing collaboration withPac-Manthat brought new outfits to the game.
On theFinal Fantasy 14side, the Manderville Gold Saucer will be updated in Spring 2024 to include a new GATE and course themed aroundFall Guys. The obstacle course will support up to 24 players but is still in development at the time of writing. According to screenshots from Fan Fest, one of the challenges will shrink the field from 24 to 16, so it remains to be seen how many rounds the course will go. ThisFall Guys-themed course will be released sometime in the Patch 6.5x series of content updates. Yoshida said more details would come about Patch 6.5 in the upcoming Letter from the Producer Live fromFinal Fantasy 14’s Fan Fest.
On social media, reception to the collaboration betweenFinal Fantasy 14andFall Guyswas positive, with players of both games stating their surprise. Giventhe unexpected collaborations thatFall Guyshas done, players of both games will have plenty of content to do shortly.
Final Fantasy 14is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5, with an Xbox Series X/S version arriving in 2024.
