A new piece of fan art suggests Nick Offerman would make a great Omni-Man in the live-action film adaption ofInvincible. The critically acclaimed animated series premiered onAmazon Primein March and has already been renewed for a second and third season.
Invincibleis based on the comic bookof the same name and follows Mark Grayson, a teenager whose father is the most powerful person on the planet. When Mark turned 17, he gained powers of his own and started working as a superhero alongside his father. His father is the mighty Omni-Man, a humanoid species who adopted the secret identity of a best-selling author upon arriving on Earth. Omni-Man possesses superhuman strength and speed and is considered one of the greatest comic book villains of all time.

In 2018, it was announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (This Is The End,The Boys)were developing a film adaption ofInvinciblethat will exist separately from the animated series. Popular Melbourne-born graphic artist BossLogic recently created a piece that cast Nick Offerman, perhaps best known for his role as Ron Swanson in NBC’s acclaimed comedyParks and Recreation, as a live-action Omni-Man. The post drew praises from fans and accumulated over 100 thousand likes in just 24-hours. Bosslogic also posted a photo in which Scott Glenn (The Leftovers, Silverado) playsInvincible’s Cecil Stedman, the head of the Global Defense Agency.
The violentInvinciblecomics consisted of 144 issues andwere written by Robert Kirkmanwith illustrations by Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley. Kirkman serves as an executive producer on the series and notably co-createdThe Walking DeadandThe Irredeemable Ant-Mancomics. The eight-episodeInvincibleseries is run by Simon Racioppa and stars Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson/Invincible, Sandra Oh as Debbi Grayson, J.K. Simmons as Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man, Zachary Quinto as Robot, and Gillian Jacobs as Samantha Eve Wilkins/Atom Eve.Invincible’sseason one finaledropped on the streaming platform on April 29.
While it is unclear when theInvinciblefilm will start production, Kirkman teased that there might be some casting crossover with the series. But the acclaimed writer noted that Steven Yeun is too old to play a live-action version of Mark Grayson.
Amazon has yet to state when the second season of the adult superhero series will air. Kirkman is currentlywriting the second and third seasons ofInvincibleand has stated that he’d love to adapt all 144 issues of the comic book series.
