Summary

AFallout 4player has encountered an extremely strange glitch, which appears to show a feral ghoul moonwalking after death during their modded playthrough of the game. While modded playthroughs can changeFallout 4dramatically, this was certainly not part of the intended effect.

Fallout 4is a Bethesda game, and so naturally, it has its fair share of bugs. Almost nine years after the game first launched, players are still finding new issues, although at this point, most of the game’s massively game-breaking problems have been patched out by Bethesda. It’s always interesting whenever a gamer finds a newFallout 4bug, because many of them are particularly wacky in nature. Just recently, oneFallout 4glitch allowed players to shoot giant exclamation points, which was an extremely bizarre sight.

Redditor BitOutside1443 shared the footage of the hilariousFallout 4glitch in action, which shows a feral ghoul moonwalking after having half of its head shot off by the player. Another user in the thread even took the time to make an edit of the kill, overlaying Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” over the original clip. It’s certainly a strange sight, but one that could have a relatively simple explanation. BitOutside1443 is playingFallout 4with console modsinstalled, including “a lot ofResident EvilandSilent Hill-themed mods.” Since these mods seem to change the appearance of feral ghouls, it stands to reason that their death animations might not work as originally intended.

Although mods are undoubtedly a big part of the reasonFallout 4has remained so popular over the last nine years, the clip shows the potential drawbacks of modding. There are plenty ofamazingFallout 4modsout there, but altering the game using a bunch not made for each other can definitely be risky when it comes to compatibility. The footage here obviously shows a funny glitch in action, but modding too much can result in much more harmful glitches such as frequent crashes and save corruption. Modding is obviously a good thing overall, but it’s definitely something to be aware of when installing hundreds of mods at a time.

With the popularity of theFalloutTV show, the franchise is having a renewed period of interest at the moment. Whether this results in a new mainline title in the series being fast-tracked by Bethesda remains to be seen, although it seems unfathomable that the studio would now wait until the 2030s and beyond to capitalize on the franchise’s mainstream popularity. Arecent interview with Todd Howardconfirmed that Bethesda has plans for moreFalloutin the future, so signs are positive that gamers won’t be waiting as long as initially expected.
