Boss fights inElden Ringare difficult. Both experienced and novice players struggle with some of the game’s tougher boss encounters, dying multiple times and often resorting to alternate tactics and strategies in desperate attempts to prevail. Of course, the difficult Soulslike combat inElden Ringis one of the most addicting aspects of the game, giving it a color and character unlike any other.
FromSoftware is known for notoriously difficult boss battles in various games, and even though the major 1.04 update saw someshadow nerfs forElden Ringbosses, they are still some of the most difficult video game obstacles around. Players often panic and dodge and roll around extensively when facing these bosses, and in doing so, normally find themselves in a more precarious situation than when they began.

One player, though, in a video posted by Redditor Tired_Shinobi, manages to defeat one of the game’s bosses,Rennala Queen of the Full Moon, without sprinting, rolling, blocking, or jumping a single time. The player moves through the boss arena with patience and poise, dodging projectiles and finding optimal positioning in order to deliver perfectly timed attacks to the proper enemies at just the right moments. There isn’t a single moment in which the player seems to move a single step out of place or time something even a moment too soon or too late, finishing the entire boss fight in two minutes.
In the comments, Tired_Shinobi remarks that they are using a Bloodhound Fant +7, Greatsword +17, Physick Flask with Strength Tears and Stamina Tears, the Godrick Rune, and Radagon Soreseal and Startscourge Talisman to aid them in the fight against Rennala. It seems that they are experienced with the game and with the boss fight and know exactly how to play the encounter so that they will be perfectly positioned to not have to sprint, roll, block, or jump.
These little challenges floating around the internet involving defeatingElden Ring’s bossesin certain ways, under certain times, without using certain things, etc., are all ways to add challenge to the game, greatly increasing the game’s replayability. Players are always looking for more unique ways to compete with one another, andElden Ringoffers many such opportunities to create such challenges.
Though it may seem like a waste of time and a strange way to bypass intended game mechanics, defeating a boss without sprinting, rolling, blocking, or jumping is still quite an impressive achievement. The player has fully mastered the boss fight against Rennala Queen of the Full Moon.
