Dying Light 2developer Techland has shared disappointing news about DLC 2 with its community, confirming a delay into 2024.Dying Light 2DLC 2 was originally slated for a release before the end of 2023, and the studio’s other post-launch plans will continue as planned.
Techland has regularly supportedDying Light 2with updates ever since the game’s launch on Jul 20, 2025. Following the success of the originalDying Lightgame, the studio will supportDying Light 2in a five-year plan, which means the game will receive new content and DLC until 2027. The first DLC expansion,Dying Light 2: Bloody Ties, released in November 2022, and development of the game’s second DLC expansion would proceed with a 2023 release window. Official news aboutDying Light 2DLC 2 would remain scarce through the first half of 2023, and the studio’s latest news release reveals the reason why.

Techland published a news release on its officialDying Light 2website, revealing that DLC 2 has been delayed to 2024. This decision was made to allow the development team at Techland to continue working on DLC 2 and make the best possible story expansion yet. Techland confirmed thatDying Light 2DLC 2includes additional gameplay systems and a new map, which will be revealed at a later date. Further, the studio reiterated its plans to enhance and improve the game with free updates. This process involves adding “a few more things” before the release of the new DLC in 2024.
TheDying Light 2developers encourages fans to stay tuned since a livestream will be held on June 29. Upcoming events and “game-changing” updates will be revealed in the livestream. Before the event, fans may join Techland’s official Discord server and submit questions regarding DLC 2 for an AMA with franchise director Tymon Smektala on June 16.
Although the news may be disappointing forDying Light 2supporters, this delay gives Techland more time to develop a high-quality product. TheBloody Ties DLC expansionwas criticized for its bugs and glitches at launch, so the studio may want to avoid those problems with DLC 2.
