WithMinecraftarming players with the potential to build practically anything imaginable, one fan of theDoomgames sets out to construct a replica of the Fortress of Doom using the many blocks available to them in the sandbox game. Fanmade crossover projects are nothing new when it comes toMinecraft, with fans of the game often taking advantage of its endless possibilities to build replicas of characters, items, and places from some of their favorite games.

Introduced inDoom Eternal, the most recent entry in the legendary FPS franchise, the Fortress of Doom serves as the Doom Slayer’s home as well as the hub throughout the main campaign. As might be expected from aDoomgame, the Fortress is a castle-like battle station that hangs in space, consisting mostly of rock and metal. The expansive fortress contains many chambers accessible with Sentinel Batteries which can be obtained in the game’s levels, with each chamber offering different rewards and items that can help players achieve their maximum destructive potential. Some of these unlockable rooms offer certain cosmetic skins instead, including the Classic Marine skin which represents the very same gear thatDoomguy was wearing back when the firstDoomgame released in 1993.

With the Fortress of Doom providing the ideal layout and design for an awesome base of operations, it was only a matter of time beforeaMinecraftbuild expertbegan work on recreating the location in the sandbox game. A fan known as Blood_Reaper8 on Reddit shared their ambition in a post on the site, including a screenshot of the work they’ve done so far. The attached image shows the blocky recreation of the Fortress of Doom’s control room, an area which features a holographic projection of Earth as well as a gorgeous view of the blue planet below via a large window. The Fortress' many facilities could make for a particularly lengthy project, especially if the creator aims to include the elevator which leads down to the Demon prison known as the Ripatorium.

Though the Fortress of Doom presenteda crucial part of the story experience forDoom Eternal’s main campaign, the Sentinel-built space station was nowhere to be found in the game’sAncient GodsDLC. While it’s difficult to say what lies in store for the future of theDoomfranchise, it’s safe to say that many fans hope to see the Fortress of Doom returning one day in some shape or form.
