Disney Dreamlight Valleywelcomes players to an enchanting world filled with beloved Disney characters they can befriend through completing quests, gift-giving, and other daily activities. Increasing friendship with each character grants the player access to new quests where they’ll learn more not only about that character but also about the Valley as a whole.
Scrooge McDuck is a pivotal character in many ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’s story quests and, like all of Valley’s residents, also offers a series of quests which are tied exclusively to the player’s relationship with thesavvy shopkeeper. Here’s everything players need to know to complete his final Friendship quest “Treasure Hunt Part 2” and obtain the Lenses of Shadow inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Start the Quest “Treasure Hunt Part 2”
When the player has reachedFriendship Level 10with Scrooge McDuck, primarily through daily conversations, gift-giving, and by completing his quests, they can start the quest,“Treasure Hunt Part 2.”This quest is a follow-up to his Friendship Level 8 quest, “Treasure Hunt.” In addition to completing this prerequisite quest, the player must also have unlocked the following biomesspending Dreamlightearned by completing duties: Forest of Valor, Forgotten Lands, Frosted Heights, and Glade of Trust.
How to Complete the Quest “Treasure Hunt Part 2”
Players begin this quest by speaking with Scrooge McDuck, who is still confident there is treasure hidden in Dreamlight Valley. Using the clues the player found during his previous quest, Scrooge has assembled a map, but he is unable to decode its cryptic inscriptions. Scrooge directs players to consult Merlin for assistance in reading the map.
Speak With Merlin
Upon reaching Merlin and engaging in conversation, he retrieves the map from the player and performs an illuminating spell. This enchantment deciphers the map’s hidden message, explicitly stating that only those in possession of the Lenses of Shadow can unveil the concealed secrets.
Use the Map and Memory Shard
He returns the map to the player and instructs them to “focus their magic” on it. To do this, the player needs to open their inventory and “Open” the map by right-clicking on it, which transforms into aMemory shard. The player then needs to “Use” the Memory shard by right-clicking on the item in their inventory.
This reveals a new memory in their Collection, depicting a map of Dreamlight Valley withred X marksindicating where the treasures are buried. However, as the map’s message warned, the player will be unable to dig up these treasures without the help of theLenses of Shadow.
Visit Scrooge to Obtain the Lenses of Shadow
The player then needs to head back to Scrooge, who reveals that the Lenses of Shadow reside in his vault and is happy to hand them over. The Lenses of Shadow are automatically added to the"Glasses" categoryin the player’s Wardrobe. The player will need toequip the Lenses of Shadowbefore proceeding with the next part of the quest.
The Lenses of Shadow are permanently unlocked in the player’s Wardrobe collection. In addition to their stylish looks, the Lenses of Shadow are required to complete a quest toobtain the Orange Potato, part of a series of puzzles that lead the player to unlocking theRainbow Fox companion.
Locate and Retrieve the Hidden Items
With theLenses of Shadow equipped, players then need to seek out three items—two keys fragmentsand achest—hidden in specific locations. The player can revisit the unlocked memory from their Collections tab to review the locations of the red Xs indicating where they’ll need to go. Head to the locations detailed on the map and look for asparkling dig spoton the ground. Use theRoyal Shovelat these spots and the quest items will be uncovered.
After successfully retrieving these items, players must return with them to Scrooge McDuck.
Repair the Broken Treasure Key
Scrooge assures the player that the broken key can be repaired by using2 Gold Ingots, which can be crafted at any crafting station using the following materials:

Gold Nuggetscan be obtained from mineral nodes in the Forgotten Lands, Frosted Heights, and Sunlit Plateau biomes.
2 Coal Ore
Coal Ore can be obtained from mineral nodes or purchased fromKristoff’s Stall.
With the Gold Ingots in the player’s inventory, head to a crafting station tocraft the Treasure Keyusing the two fragments. With the key repaired, return to Scrooge, who uses the key to unlock the chest. Scrooge gives the player their share of the treasure, which amounts to2,000 Star Coins. The player also receivesScrooge McDuck’s Spare Safe, a furniture item which functions as a 16-slot storage chest. This completes the quest “Treasure Hunt Part 2” inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
