In addition to having the opportunity to befriend and adventure alongside many beloved Disney characters,Disney Dreamlight Valleyalso features a large assortment of companions who can also accompany the player through their efforts to improve the Valley.
These companions are small animals that follow the player around and can be interacted with to pet or take photos. The companions don’t serve any special function at this time, but they’re all adorable, and completionists will appreciate the opportunity to collect the entire menagerie. Companions can be equipped via the game’s Wardrobe menu.

Befriending these creatures is a fun little side activity for most Dreamers. They come in a variety of species, like squirrels, rabbits, foxes, raccoons, sunbirds, sea turtles, and even dragons. With the release of two new expansions, A Rift in Time and The Storybook Vale, there’s a whole new collection of critters to find. This guide has now been updated with all the animal companions one can befriend in the new biomes in the expansion packs.
All Animal Companion Pets and How to Get Them
Despite the game still being in Early Access, some companions are already no longer available but hopefully will make a return in future events. Here’s a full list of all companions currently featured inDisney Dreamlight Valley.
Quest Reward Companions inDisney Dreamlight Valley
Disney Dreamlight Valleycurrently features four adorable companions that all players can obtain by completing specific quests. Here’s how to get each of these companions:
Complete the Story Quest “The Great Blizzard.”
Magic Carpet
Awarded after completing the Carpet Diem quest in the Aladdin Realm.
You can find the Magic Carpet under the Companions category in the Wardrobe section of the Inventory.
Event Companions in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Disney Dreamlight Valleycurrently features 24 companions, which were limited-time rewards associated with specific events, mostly the game’s bi-monthly Star Path events. These companions are not currently available inDisney Dreamlight Valley, but could be re-added at a future date. Here’s a look at all the event companions in the game so far:

Critter Companions in Dreamlight Valley
In the base game,Disney Dreamlight Valleyfeatures 41 animal companions that players can befriend as wild critters in the game’s various biomes. These companions can be unlocked by raising their friendship through gifting their favorite items each day when they are available.
With the introduction of new expansion packs, like A Rift in Time and The Storybook Vale, Dreamers can befriend a lot more critters in the world. Each biome features a specific species of critter, and the different color variants can be on designated days within certain time periods.
Beige Monkey
Found in the Ancient’s Landing biome in Eternity Isle. Their favorite food is 5-Star Desserts, and they like3-Star Mealsor higher. Monkeys will reject any other food besides these. Toon Monkeys are only available after completing The Spark of Imagination quest.
