Bungie has ambitious plans forDestiny 2, as detailed a few weeks back when they not only revealed the next three expansions but also plans for keeping the game feeling fresh and evolving. As exciting as that news was for fans, the one question mark remains on the game’s overall performance which continues to suffer from glitches, server issues, and what feels like increasing amount of bugs. The latest one found gives players a big advantage inclaiming loot from the newest Dungeonadded this season.

As reported byDestiny 2YouTuber Cheese Forever, this Prophecy loot exploit gives players a game breaking way to score fast XP, umbral engrams, altered elements, and plenty of loot. Basically, players kill the final boss in the Prophecy dungeon but don’t claim the loot and instead leave the mission or change characters. This will give the player the treasure room checkpoint which can be used to spawn back into the dungeon at this point in time.

At this point, reentering the checkpoint will instantly get the loot and if the original character goes back in, the check point will be removed so players should avoid using it on that character. This also works with friends, who can be added to the fireteam and then the checkpoint loaded. During the slipstream animation, the checkpoint owner shoudl switch characters, which will kick them out of the party, but the rest of the fireteam will load in to claim the loot. This process can continue to be repeated as needed. The friend can also get a glitched checkpoint so the players getting the loot can switch.

Outside of the seasonal resources like Altered Elements, the biggest reason that players seemingly pull this off is to farm the new version of the Ikelos Shotgun v1.0.2 as well as high stat armor. Originallyintroduced in theWarmindexpansion, the Ikelos gear is now likely facing being sunset when the Beyond Light expansion launches in the fall. However, this new version is not only going to be around for a while, it features a power cap much higher than the original version and comes with randomized perks and combinations like Lead from Gold, Trench Barrel, Feeding Frenzy, and more.

Obviously, this bug is game breaking as it not only gives players plenty of important seasonal resources and Umbral Engrams in a way that’s much faster than Bungie intended. Players should expect Bungie to move quickly on this bug in a similar way to when it shut down theAFK Forge farming methodearlier this season.

Bungie is no stranger to loot exploits as the Destiny franchise has seen plenty of them since the first game launched all the way back in 2014. The most notorious was the community named loot cave, where players could endlessly farm spawning enemies from an easy to get to cave inside of the Cosmodrome area.Destiny 2has always had an issue with giving players satisfying amounts of loot so when a new glitch is found by fans, players tend to flock to it. Some notable events were whenThe Menagerie could continue giving lootwhen players reloaded the instance and when players discovered a way to glitch into the Last Wish raid early to claim its loot.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
