Namely, it turns out that this particular weapon can deal insane amounts of damage to bosses due to an unspecified glitch that the developers are currently attempting to fix. While it’s still unclear what exactly triggers this newly reported bug, numerous player reports from social media claim the Winterbite Exotic Glaive can essentially reach infinite DPS during anyDestiny 2boss fight.
Given how this state of affairs turns the Winterbite into boththe bestDestiny 2Glaiveand an utterly broken weapon in its own right, Bungie ended up disabling it in all endgame content, including raids, dungeons, and the Gambit mode as of March 4. The studio has yet to provide an update on its efforts to resolve this issue, though it historically managed to fix DPS bugs in a matter of weeks, so anyone eager to use the Winterbite inDestiny 2endgame content likely won’t have to wait too long to be able to do so again.
