Deep Rock Galactichas received a special new trailer announcing that its Season 3 of content would launch on Steam on November 3, with console and Windows Store versions of the update coming on November 17. WhereasSeason 2 ofDeep Rock Galacticpitted the dwarves against vicious driller robots, Season 3 is going in an entirely different direction, instead. The main foe appears to be an all-new lithophage by the name of Rockpox, which will infect the local flora and fauna, player characters themselves, and even the very ground upon which the dwarves walk. Season 3 will empower players to battle the Rockpox with a slew of new weapons and throwables, highlights of which are the electromagnetic boomerang and the gun-grenade, for example.

Players who might only just now be joining the game and who might be worried that some ofDeep Rock GalacticSeason 2 gearmay be unavailable in the future needn’t worry, however. The new trailer specifically points out the fact that none of the content is leavingDeep Rock Galactic, and would instead be added to the game’s regular loot pool, and may appear randomly upon mission completions and the like.

It’s no secret thatDeep Rock Galacticis very successful, having surpassed the milestone of 3 million copies sold back in late 2021. With Season 3 launching in early-to-mid November, this number is likely to keep growing still, and the fact that Coffee Stain and Ghost Ship studios are continuously working on it underlines the game’s explosive success. This is particularly noteworthy since it first came out as an Early Access game, which may have made some potential players skeptical of its longevity back in the day.

As deep and content-rich asDeep Rockmight be, it’s also worth pointing out that the game isn’t difficult to pick up even for total newbies. There are, certainly, some keyDeep Rock Galactictips and tricksthat newcomers ought to keep in mind, but the game’s difficulty curve lends itself rather well to almost all player profiles, no matter the amount of experience they might have.

Deep Rock Galacticis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
