While PC players will have to wait a bit longer than those on PS4 to playDeath Stranding, they will be getting a more fully-featured version of the game. TheDeath StrandingPC version has some exclusive content, including photo mode, but as it turns out, those on PS4 may get photo mode at some point in the future.
Death Strandinggame director Hideo Kojima has been sharing photos taken using theDeath Strandingphoto modein the PC version to show fans how it will work. Kojima has stressed that the feature is still in development, and he is considering adding it as an update to the PS4 version of the game. Nothing is set in stone, but it seems as though fan demand for photo mode is partly what’s driving this decision. No specific release details have been announced as of yet, though, so fans shouldn’t get their hopes up until Kojima Productions decides to share more information.

Besides photo mode,Death Strandingon PC is set to have some other exclusive content and features as well. For example,Death Strandingon PC will have a higher frame rate, plus it will havecrossover content with Valve’sHalf-Lifefranchise. More specifically,Death Strandingplayers on PC will be able to get their hands on a Headcrab cap in the PC version of the game.
While it’s easy to see how theDeath Strandingphoto mode could come to the PS4 version, it’s highly unlikely that theHalf-Lifecontent will make the jump as well. TheHalf-Lifecontent is there to convince people to purchaseDeath Strandingon Steam, so PS4 owners shouldn’t expect to see that released as DLC, though anything’s possible.
It’s unlikely that all of the new content coming toDeath Strandingon PC will come to PS4, but that doesn’t mean that Kojima Productions is done supporting the console version of the game. In fact, it’s been rumored that aDeath Strandingstory expansionwill launch at some point later this year, though nothing official has been announced to date. If such a thing is in the works, it will be interesting to see if it coincides with theDeath StrandingPC launch or come a bit later.
TheDeath StrandingPC release date is this coming June, so fans on PC don’t have too much longer to see what all the fuss is about.
Death Strandingis out now for PS4 with a PC release coming June 2.
