It wouldn’t beCyberpunk 2077without choices that can directly impact the morality and consequences of the game, andCyberpunk 2077’s DLC expansion,Phantom Liberty, is no exception, featuring many choices that will take V and Johnny’s head for an absolute spin when it comes to deciding on what to do. The case of the matter this time comes from the two Dogtown residents, Jacob and Taylor during the Lucretia My Reflectionmain mission.

Choosing whether or not to take a life is never an easy one, especially when these characters have walked into V and President Myers’ hideout without even knowing what they have just waltzed into. The dilemmalies in their life, and it begs the question of whether players should kill Jacob and Taylor inCyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty, or not.

Should You Kill Jacob And Taylor?

Early into the Lucretia My Reflection mission, players will find refuge in an abandoned apartment room on the 8th floor of a complex. However, V and President Myers’ drink is interrupted as two Dogtown residents enter the hideout and marvel at the potential of this new home. Myers, being the cutthroat President of the New United States of America, says to V that they should kill them to take no chance and minimize the risk of being spotted and sold out to Hansen’s soldiers. Yet, V can object, and emerge from hiding to try and talk to the strangers andfind common groundwith the potential allies of Jacob and Taylor.

There are a few ways to get around this complex decision, as it’s only natural to want these characters out of the picture. After all, V needs to keep President Myers safe, as that’s the one ticket to potentially saving theirlife from the Relic. Yet, these two seem innocent, and is it worth killing them, especially when they could offer more than just a limp body?

Outcome 1: Kill Jacob and Taylor

There are a few ways that players can kill Jacob and Taylor. The first is that they ignore the Quick-Time Event prompt that appears when President Myers expresses interest in killing them. If they let the bar run out, Myers will burst from cover and pump the duo full of lead, killing them both and avoiding any attempts at negotiation. With Jacob and Taylor dead, players are free to loot their bodies, but they won’t find anything other than a random and inferior gun, as well as a fewEurodollars to barely pay for a snack.

The other way that players can kill Jacob and Taylor is by ignoring the rules during negotiating. If players step too close to Jacob and Taylor, they will open fire. Alternatively, if the negotiation goes poorly and V continues to threaten the duo, things go south. Players can also just open fire on them mid-conversation to try and kill them. They’re not a hard duo to kill, but is it worth killing Jacob and Taylor?

By killing Jacob and Taylor, players are missing out on some dialogue with the duo of Dogtown survivors, and they will have to carry their bodies to the garbage chute that is just outside the apartment room. President Myers will express how if anyone else shows up to the hideout, they can share Jacob and Taylor’s fate and fill up the garbage chute. Players can sleep soundly knowing that nobody else will show up, but they might keep themselves up at night knowing they’ve lost potentially twonew friends in Dogtown.

Outcome 2: Talk to Jacob and Taylor

The second way to deal with the Jacob and Taylor situation is to simply talk to them. After President Myers expresses interest in killing them, players should jump out of cover and reveal themselves to the duo. This will start negotiation tactics, in which players can start talks with the two in 3 timed dialogue choices, starting by selecting the option:Live to see another day.

Alternatively, if players have the Corpo Lifepath, they can select that as an option, in which they will dump the negotiation on President Myers. No matter what the player chooses, the negotiation with Jacob and Taylor will always result in the two asking for a way out of Dogtown, and a Rayfield vehicle, to which President Myers is happy to oblige.

After negotiations are successful, Jacob and Taylor will stick around. Players can talk to them for some optional dialogue, and learn more about their history and where they came from. Having two more allies to help protect President Myers is a good idea, and if players let Jacob and Taylor live, the next morning, Jacob will explain Airdrops inCyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty. They will also show up later in the Lucretia My Reflection mission guarding the hideout.

What’s the Best Outcome for Jacob and Taylor?

Truthfully, the fate of Jacob and Taylor does not matter, as regardless of whether players let the duo live or die during this mission does not affect what happens to them in the events to come. If players killed the duo, then that’s that, and the only thing they will carry is a guilty conscience of a risk-free situation. If players let Jacob and Taylor live, they can have abrief duo of friendsin Dogtown.

The choice of whether to kill or trust Jacob and Taylor doesn’t matter too much, as they share a mutual outcome after the Lucretia My Reflection mission. Either way, players aren’t going to be seeing Jacob and Taylor happy and out of Dogtown, regardless of their choice on the matter.
