CD Projekt Redhave been under a lot of scrutiny these past few months, mainly due to the shaky launch of its open world sci-fi epicCyberpunk 2077. While the game has come on leaps and bounds and is closer to being the finished product it was meant to be back in December 2020, theKeanu Reeves starringCyberpunk 2077is still having problems even after the latest update. However, while the studio is continuing to improve on the game with hotfix after hotfix, it’s also allegedly looking to move forward onto its next project.
A recent job posting shows thatCD Projekt Redis currently on the lookout for writers, particularly writers who are able to work in either its Warsaw or Kraków offices, both of which reside in Poland. More specifically, it seems as though the company is looking for someone to help create “history and dialogue” with the role involving the candidate writing dialogue and scenarios, as well as helping the rest of the team to “iterate on narrative delivery techniques.” Naturally, potential applicants are asked to make sure they can communicate in Polish, and have experience in the field and a love of video games.

On top of this, it seems the studio was also looking to hire an English adaptation specialist, one who can help translate Polish into English. Both of these could be linked, and it all ties together with another story that emerged very recently, in whichCD Projekt Red put out a call for developersfor, presumably, its next game. In particular, this job listing has been looking for someone with experience in creating open world titles.
It’s hard to say what this next project will be. WhileCyberpunk 2077is still being worked on by the studio, it’s tempting to say that they are simply looking for extra helping hands to help push out the updates. However, given that this new listing is looking for writers, that suggests it will be a brand-new game. Of course, many fans will be hoping forthe long-awaitedWitcher 4, but nothing is being said by official sources just yet.
WithCyberpunk 2077causingCDPR to lose profits earlier this year, not to mention lawsuits over the game’s release and source codes being stolen, the Polish-based developer has had a bit of a tough year, but is seemingly working hard to make amends. That being said, it doesn’t seem to have deterred the studio too much as it looks to be making strides to start work on its next project. What that will be is anyone’s guess at this stage, but fans will have their own ideas of what they want.
