Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers have been waiting for the Sykov pistol to be usable inside of the battle royale game for several months, and now it has finally arrived. However, it seems like the pistol is already in need of a nerf, with someCall of Duty: Warzonefans pointing out how it is seemingly stronger than the FFAR was.
TheSykov leaked months ago, withCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers able to use the weapon early. Back then, it was the single pistol making the rounds, and the little time players got to spend with the leaked weapon made it clear that the gun was a bit on the strong side. Fully automatic with the ability to attach some extended mags that take the bullet count up to 80, players could drop several enemies with the gun before even needing to think about a reload. However, the use of dual wield has spotlighted how truly overpowered the gun can be.

TheSykov officially released yesterday, with the akimbo version of the pistols quickly blowing gamers away. Redditor BrainDevelopment shared an image of the pistol, with the attachments selected making the gun seem truly broken. The full auto barrel, 80 round drum mags, and 5mw laser ensure that the gun is accurate and ridiculously strong. While it certainly looks like it would be overpowered on paper, it is in practice, as the guns time to kill (TTK) is outrageous.
As pointed out by BrainDevelopment in the comments section, testing has shown that the Sykov has a TTK of 245. While this number may mean nothing to those without in-depth knowledge on the statistics of each weapon, BrainDevelopment provides a comparison that should blow fans away. The FFAR, the previous gun at the top ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s meta, took twice as long to kill enemies. While players do need to take into account the limited range of pistols, this statistic is insane, and players clearly have no better option at close range.
ForCall of Duty: Warzonefanslooking to see the broken gun in action, Reddit user Eloxify shows a 3v1 victory in Trios. With both their teammates down, Eloxify methodically enters and exits a house, racking up kills as they go. Before the enemies can even fire back, they are dead, as the dual wield guns kill them in almost no time at all. Worse, the players seemingly had full sets of armor on, with the gear offering no real protection against the incoming shots.
With dominant guns usually going a few weeks before they are nerfed, gamers may be waiting untilCall of Duty: WarzoneSeason 3before some change is seen. As such, it may be best to equip the weapons and keep up with the competition.
Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
