Summary
Call of Duty: Warzoneplayers are reporting some serious issues following the game’s newest patch. The Season 1 Reloaded update released on January 17th forCall of Duty: Warzone, but it seems to have done more harm than good.
Call of Duty’s Season 1 Reloaded broughtnew additions toWarzonelike two weapons, the Champion’s Quest, and a Gulag event. Originally, the update was meant to add the Covert Exfil and the Weapons Case features as well, but these were delayed until further notice.Warzone’s development team explained that these will be added at a later date alongside a playlist centered around the new features. WhileWarzonefans were excited for new content to be added for the first time since Season 1’s introduction, the anticipation was quickly spoiled for some fans following the update’s release.

Following the game’s newestupdate, manyWarzoneplayers are reporting that they are unable to get past the game’s menu due to an infinite looping glitch. Once users attempt to load intoWarzonefromCall of Duty’s main menu, their screen becomes a buggy mess as it rapidly switches between loading screens. Players on all platforms are reporting this issue. MostCall of Dutyusers are no strangers to bugs, but this one is particularly frustrating, especially after the excitement surrounding Season 1 Reloaded’s release. It’s unclear how long this will remain an issue, but fans are hoping thatCall of Dutywill release a hotfix in the near future. In efforts to remedy this problem,Call of Dutyhas temporarily disabled the new Champion’s Quest feature at the time of writing. One PC user reported that the looping menu bug could be bypassed by clicking on the Rio 24/7 button in the background and then hitting escape.
Users who manage to load into the game are still at risk fromfrustratingWarzonebugs. Many users have reported another new glitch that arises after interacting with supply drops, which sees the screens of affected users stutter as black shading repeatedly appears and disappears around the edges of their point of view. This glitch was also reported on all platforms.
Although this is probably disappointing news forWarzonefans, recent developments surrounding the game aren’t all doom and gloom. Recently,Call of Dutyannounced a new upgrade to its anti-cheatsystem, which will now target mouse-and-keyboard players using aim assist by automatically closing their game. Cheaters were achieving this by using software that tricked the game into thinking they were using a controller, but hopefully this is no longer possible.
Sometime in the future,Warzonewill also introduce the new Covert Exfilfeature, giving players a new way to successfully exit a match. While Covert Exfil was originally intended for Warzone’s battle royale mode, it seems that it will now be introduced in a unique new mode.
MAPS
The NV Gulag is one of the new additions to the overall Gulag experience for Warzone, complimenting the new Public Events direction. With this new entry, we are adding a Gulag experience that manifests changes to the visuals and gameplay. The NV Gulag brings opportunities for new stories and new ways of approaching the “fight” to return to the Warzone, where it’s no longer just based on who gets a visual on the other player first but who has the better positioning and the ability to disappear - a critical gameplay element in any Battle Royale. Prepare to out-position the enemy!!
MODES
Part of our commitment to Warzone is the continuous monitoring of community sentiment, player engagement data, and the pursuit of fun, new experiences. Among the recent additions, Urzikstan Resurgence stands out, having garnered unprecedented engagement from a Resurgence mode on a big map. We understand that with a large, diverse player base comes varied preferences, but we prioritize introducing and rotating in modes that perform exceptionally well to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience for as many players as we can reach.
