Despite new seasons worth of content, security remains the primary focus of theCall of Duty: Warzonecommunity. Since launching back in March 2020 as a free to play experience, Call of Duty: Warzone has been under constant assault from hackers and cheaters. In fact, the issues have continued to get worse over time as wallhacks, aimbots, and more have continued to plague the online battle royale, prompting many big names in the community likeNick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff to take a break fromWarzoneuntil changes are made.

In the eyes of the community, Raven has made little progress in stopping hackers from ruining matches. The studio has disclosed numbers of banned accounts, but things have continued to escalate to the point that hacks have continued to evolve to stay ahead of backgrounds changes. In fact, players have ultimately had to take matters into their own hands not only by reporting individuals, but someWarzoneplayers have devised special anti-cheat loadoutsto take the fight to those not playing fair.

While things continue to escalate, Raven continues to hunt down and systematically ban those found guilty of cheating or hacking matches. In fact, earlier this week, the studio announced that it has banned over 100,000Call of Duty: Warzoneaccounts on Tuesday alone. While some replies thanked the studio, others commented that there were still a large amount of cheaters running wild online. Many screenshots and video clips followed showing off players cheating the system.

Things have continued to evolve over the past few months. however. As Raven continues to take action against cheating and hacking, a recentupdate lets everyone in aWarzonematch know when an individual has been banned. The killfeed in a Battle Royale match now displays the player’s name while indicating that they’ve been banned. Thankfully, it appears that those who have been recently banned are unable to create new accounts as Activision and Raven have moved to hardware banning.

Although things appear to be improving, the solution that the community has been asking for appears to finally be on the way. Alongside theCall of Duty: Vanguardreveal, Raven announced that the eventualWarzoneintegration will not only include a new map, but a true PC anti-cheat system. For now,Raven has not divulged many details on how the anti-cheat will work, a common practice by development studios in order to not give information to those looking for ways around these systems.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
