Quickly establishing itself as one of the best alternatives to Shotguns insideCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarZombies, players may want to put the effort into unlocking the weapon.
Unfortunately, Zombies fans will need to play a fair bit of multiplayer to completethe Crossbow’s weapon challenge. Requiring three one-shot kill medals in 15 different games, those that only playCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warfor its Zombies mode will need to push through a few hours’ worth of games. While Hardcore playlists may make this easier, it will still be time consuming — though footage from Redditors like SWE3N3Y has proven that the time will be well-spent.

After completing the necessary grind topermanently unlock the Crossbow, players can equip the weapon to their Zombies loadouts. While the arrow launcher is bad at the start of games, as it does too little damage to justify its slow reloads, the weapon becomes broken once Pack-A-Punched. Near instant reload times combine with top-tier penetration, and players being able to pick up arrows from Zombies’ corpses ensures that ammo never needs to be purchased.
With so much going for it, the Crossbow is worth Pack-A-Punching. While players will likely need to use another weapon until the Crossbow is upgraded, a downside it shares with the M79, the Lance-A-Lot version is an absolute monster of a weapon inside the mode. Likely to top anyZombies weapon tier listgoing forward, the upgraded Crossbow is great for taking out trains and mini bosses like Manglers and Mimics. However, it is apparently just as threatening to the Orda boss as well.
Firebase Z’s Ordais a genuine threat during the map’s Assault Rounds, as health buffs have made it so the creature requires a lot of effort to bring down. That said, even the Elder God is no match for an upgraded Crossbow, as Redditor wadeboggs4371 has shown that the weapon is now the quickest way to kill the enemy. When combined with the Ring of Fire Field Upgrade, theCall of DutyZombies player decimates Orda’s health bar, killing it in 10 seconds.
With the Crossbow more powerful against Orda thanthe RAI K-84 Wonder Weapon, it is safe to say that it may be a bit overpowered. Still, it clearly seems to be a lot of fun to use, proving to be even more useful than the Crossbow seen in the originalBlack Opsgame.
