Borutochapter 78 dropped recently and it was, quite easily, one of the most intense chapters that fans have received in the story up until now in quite a while. The current arc sees the manga build up towards the clash that was first shown to the fans in the prologue of the story.

Boruto andKawaki played a massive rolein this chapter and, as expected, they went on to clash in what was a shocking event, to say the least.Borutochapter 78 built up heavily towards the upcoming timeskip that fans know will happen. All the major happenings in the story that have gripped the fans over the years were somewhat touched in this chapter and that is one of the many reasons whythis month’s chapter of Borutowas incredible.
Sarada’s Resolve
For the majority of the story, characters such as Sarada and Mitsuki have been pushed to the sidelines by the writers. This is down to the fact that Boruto and Kawaki have become the main focus of the story, especially since the latter was introduced andthe threat of the Otsutsukiwas focused on more than usual. While Boruto chapter 78 didn’t fix this issue in its entirety, it gave Sarada quite a bit of focus when she found out that Boruto had already died once following his clash against Kawaki. Sarada was kept in the dark about this up until now, however, now that she realized this, she went on to chase Kawakito aid Boruto Uzumaki. This is a great moment for Sarada as it gives her the motivation needed to be more involved in the plot and play a significant role in the story moving forward.
InBorutochapter 78, she went on to aid Boruto in combat despite being warned about her death. Sarada has been on the sidelines for way too long now and it was a breath of fresh air for her character to get this attention that she deserves. Following the breakup of the clash, Sarada received the necessary motivation to grow stronger. Fans already know that a timeskip is coming in Boruto and for her, this will be a great moment to brush up her skill. Thankfully,Borutochapter 78 did great to set that up for her character.
Boruto Uzumaki Vs Kawaki
Boruto vs.Kawaki was the main focusofBorutoChapter 78 and it was certainly incredible in every way. While fans would ideally have expected an action-heavy chapter, the fight was rather short lived. That said, it was incredible as it did more than enough to move the plot forward. The two clashed over the Hokage faces, which holds great significance for both of them, as has been made clear already. The two traded blows and while that was the best combat that fans saw in the chapter, it was what followed that blew everyone away. Sarada, who had already made her way to get to their location, arrived and decided to join the battle.

However, she wasn’t aware of the threat that Kawaki carried. Showing no hesitation to attack her, it was Boruto who got in the way and stopped him, preventing her death from coming to fruition in the process. That said, this proved to be costly for Boruto Uzumaki himself, as he went on to lose his right eye. Fans already know that Boruto loses one of his eyes, as was seen in the prologue of the story.Borutochapter 78 explained exactly how this came to be. Kawaki ended up being responsible for the loss of eye for Boruto Uzumaki. Surprisingly, Boruto’s Jogan showed when this happened and Momoshiki played a significant role in the plot moving forward.
Kawaki’s Escape
Following Boruto’s loss of eye,Borutochapter 78 saw the members of Konoha to immediately surorund Kawaki and restrict all his movements. Kawaki was, by all means, done and couldn’t escape from the Konoha shinobi any lobger. In fact, he had even accepted his death in this moment. Yet, in another shocking turn of events, it was Boruto Uzumaki who ended up aiding Kawaki following the awakening of Momoshiki.
Absorbing the shadow paralysis Justu of Shikamaru, Boruto opened up the way for Kawaki to escape, who wasted no time in using Sukunahikona to make his way out. Momoshiki then went on to claim that Boruto’s fate has been sealed and the beginning of the end is finally here.
