FromSoftware titles are famous for their challenging combat, tricky boss battles, and intricate lore, andBloodborneis no exception. Moving away from the fantasy-focused settings of the previous series likeDark SoulsandDemon Souls,Bloodborne’s Victorian-inspired Yharnam may be a departure for the developer, but it still has the familiar formula of a FromSoftware game. With iconic enemies, satisfyingly demanding mechanics, and its own special blend of gothic horror,Bloodbornereally stood out among the developer’s offerings, and it’s been a world that fans are dying to get back to.
A sequel hasn’t been confirmed yet, and in fact, it seems likeFromSoftware might be focusing on its other franchisesfor the time being, but many players are hoping for aBloodbornereturn at some point. There are plenty of questions about what form a sequel could take and what it might focus on, but fans certainly have a few ideas. One character that many believe deserves an expanded role in the sequel is the enigmatic assassin Eileen the Crow, a hunter who still has more stories to tell.

The Story Of Eileen The Crow
Known as aHunter of Hunters, Eileen the Crowhas the difficult task of tracking down her fellow fighters and slaying the ones that have become too blood-drunk. Eileen is an experienced and formidable hunter, and although she often complains about her advancing age and increasing inability to carry out her duties, she still feels a responsibility to help protect others from the madness that consumes those that succumb to the bloodlust. She’s one of the few semi-friendly characters that players can come across, and although she only appears periodically inBloodborne, she still makes an impact.
Eileen is also the protagonist ofBloodborne: A Song of Crows, a spinoff comic that explores her past and tracksher quest across Yharnam. Despite her long and storied career as a hunter, Eileen is finally overcome and can be discovered outside the Grand Cathedral with life-threatening injuries. She passes her badge and Hunter rune over to the player and tasks them with finishing what she was not able to, and after returning to the area, she is nowhere to be found. It is not clear whether she dies or was able to survive her injuries, and this open mystery leaves room for Eileen’s potential return in a sequel.

Eileen’s Role In A Bloodborne Sequel
As FromSoftware’s otherpopular series likeArmored CoreandDark Soulshave all had multiple sequels already, it’s not beyond the bounds of possibility that a followup toBloodbornemight materialize at some point.Bloodbornewas undoubtedly a popular and game-changing release, and it has also inspired many other titles like the upcomingLies of P. A sequel would definitely be welcomed by fans and could delve into undiscovered or underdeveloped aspects of the narrative and the world. Eileen the Crow may have already had her story expanded in the comic, but a sequel could do so much more.
Like the player’s Hunter andcharacters like Father Gascoigne, Eileen the Crow is a foreigner from another land and not a native of Yharnam. A sequel could explore other settings beyond Yharnam and see if the disastrous quest for knowledge that ravaged the city has affected other areas too. Of course, many would like to explore Yharnam further, and the next title could be a prequel instead and document how hunters like Eileen the Crow first took on their terrible duties and show why she was one of the last to remain as beasts continued to plague the city.
