Resident Evilis not the most quotable video game franchise of all time. It does have quite a few great lines, though, from Barry praising Jill as the master of unlocking in the first game to the various things the mysterious merchant says to Leon inResident Evil 4.

This series was built on cheesy B-movies of the 50s and 60s, so it makes sense why a lot of the early dialogue sounded a bit off. What about theNetflixshow? Are there any great quotes from this new live-actionResident Evilseries? The quick answer is yes, and there will be spoilers.
8“They’ve Got Kombucha On Tap.”
Wesker excitedly tells this to the girls as they are driving intoNew Raccoon City. Billie seems fine with the move, but Jade is anything but okay. Her attitude toward the move is not fully explained in season one. Fans could chalk it up to her being a normal angsty teen, or perhaps more backstory will be given to the Weskers in season two.
It could be that Jade was deprived of simple things like Kombucha all her life, and that’s why she is so angry with her dad.

7“I Don’t Want You Fired; I Want You Blacklisted.”
This is another great quote from Wesker in perhaps one of the best scenes in season one. A bully is accusing Billie of punching her in the face, causing a parent conference. The bully’s dad, David, wants Billie to get the book thrown at her essentially, but Wesker cooly tears down David piece by piece.
Wesker shows David that acompany like Umbrelladoesn’t need an analyst like him but that they do need Wesker as he is the only man capable of the current job. It’s too bad there weren’t more intimidating scenes like this.

6“The Cat Thing, Super F****d Up.”
After escaping her Umbrella captors, Jade makes it back to a safe haven. It’s here where she hopes to meet her contact, Barry, but his wife Melinda says he is out. This isnot the same Barry, aka Burton, from the games. Not believing her, Jade persuades her way into the apartment to see it littered with cats.

Eventually, this turns into a horror story when she finds Barry has been turned into a zombie and was locked in the bathroom. Melinda was feeding him cats, and Jade saw the bathtub filled with their corpses. Jade says this line on her way out after rescuing an ungrateful Melinda.
5“Just Call Me The Master Of Unlocking.”
There is a more direct nod to Barry Burton in episode four. Richard Baxter, the Umbrella agent that has been following Jade since episode one, gets captured alongside Jade. They are then thrown into a cult-like prison that is filled with hungry zombies.
Richard is not phased by this predicament as he has a trick up his sleeve or in this case, his belt. He whips out a knife and declares himself the master of unlocking. Barry says a similar line to Jill in the first game. There wereno Jill sandwichjokes, sadly, in season one of Netflix’sResident Evil, though.

4“No More Surprises, I Don’t Like Surprises.”
Wesker doesn’t have as many intimidating scenes in the show as fans may hope. Wesker,as a villainin the games, was infamous for being a master of words. The true villain of season one is instead Evelyn, who is the new CEO of Umbrella. She has a lot of great lines, including this one.
On its own, it doesn’t sound like much, but she says this to Wesker as she cuts a rat’s head off with scissors. She wanted to prove that she will do anything to get her new drug, Joy, to market.

3“But, That’s A Limit.”
One of the biggest lore changes Netflix’sResident Evildoes is give Wesker clones. In the games, it is implied that there are many “Wesker” children. They are not related by birth but instead are imbued withthe same virusand some genetic codes. Wesker clones himself three times in this show’s universe, and Bert is one of those clones.

Bert says this line to an Olive Garden waitress who refuses to bring more breadsticks. He points out the fact that the breadsticks aren’t limitless if everyone at the table can’t get their own basket. This is an early warning sign that something isn’t right with good old Uncle Bert.
2“Yeah, Well, F*****g Insane Is What We Do.”
This is another line said by Evelyn. She is addressing Billie and Jade once she brings them back to Umbrella headquarters where she promises their dad is safe. It’s a great line because that should be what Umbrella’s slogan should be.
They have always been disguised as a pharmaceutical company in the games andother live-action spinoffs. Secretly, however, they experiment with military-grade genetics and hardware. They are anything but normal, but they can’t exactly send that out as a press release.

1“I Have A Pen.”
The final best line of season one of Netflix’sResident Evilonce again goes to Wesker. Evelyn seemingly corners Wesker and asks, “I have the future; what do you have?” He replies, “I have a pen,” and then produces said pen. He plays with this pen throughout the show, but it is never revealed what it is. It had enough power to ignite Wesker’s whole lab because that’s exactly what happened next.
Did Wesker die in the fire, though? He does have his creator’s blood in him, who did survive several worse disasters in the games. This new Wesker could presumably be just as tough.
