It’s hard to put a game likeNeon Whiteunder one genre. It is a first-person shooter where the primary goal in most of its levels is to kill all the demons. It is a platformer as players need to be able to jump and navigate through a level as quickly as possible.

It is even a visual novel as players get to learn about individual characters through motionless cutscenes with voice acting. Whatever the genre,Neon Whitehas already taken the internet by storm with its addictive gameplay. Luckily, there are a handful of games that people should try if they are looking for more of this kind of experience.
9Donut County
Neon Whitewas made by a new development studio called Angel Matrix, but the lead for the game was none other than Ben Esposito. The name may sound familiar because Esposito is known for making another game with a very different vibe to it calledDonut County.
Thiscute and funnygame is about raccoons who have remote-controlled holes that they use to swallow up trash. However, one raccoon goes too far and traps himself and his friends in a hole where he must be confronted with the consequences of his actions.Donut Countyis much different fromNeon Whitebut is an easy sell if players want more of Esposito’s work.

8Disc Room
Getting through a level as quickly as possible is at the core ofNeon White, but if players want to try a game that involves trying to get the longest time possible? This is one of many elements incorporated intoDisc Room, a game about avoiding death (most of the time).
Players areput on a spaceshipwhere they will have to go through a series of rooms and complete various objectives. The primary goal for most of the rooms is to avoid dying for an extended period of time, with other objectives like dying to specific discs also in the game. There are even developer times to beat like there are inNeon White.

7PogoChamp
Unique platformers that embrace time trial elements can get highly addicting. Another game to come out in 2022 to fall under this category isPogoChamp. This smaller indie game stars a test dummy on a pogo stick that players will play as,jumping preciselythrough each level.
How long each level takes to beat will be judged at the end, with scores ranging from zero to three stars. Players will need a specific number of stars to keep progressing through the game. It also has a leaderboard and, unlikeNeon White,PogoChampactually allows people to view replays of the best records. This can be helpful for those trying to learn specific strategies.

6Paradise Killer
While not a major part of the gameplay,Neon Whitedoes have elements of a visual novel while also being a first-person game. Those who like the surreal unique nature ofNeon Whitemay enjoy the vibes ofParadise Killer, a murder investigation game.
As Lady Love Dies, players can navigate an open world while running into unique characters that can serve as both witnesses and suspects. WhileParadise Killerisn’t as fast-pacedasNeon White, it engages the player with strong personalities that make for a fun story to be in control of.

Levels are designed around this ridiculous concept, including introducing aspects like antigravity and horrific obstacles such as giant hammers and boulders. Players can even unlock abilities such as a grappling hook or the ability to freeze time to help get faster times. And yes, these levels are also timed and have leaderboards.
4Trials Fusion
Trying to get the best time in a platforming experience is at the core ofNeon White, but a game that has always been known for its unique physics in a speedy format isTrials Fusion. One of the best in its series,Fusionembraces the uniqueness of riding a bikeon a 2.5D plane.

The game is about a woman named Madeline who is on a mission to climb Celeste Mountain despite all the dangerous aura that the landmark gives off.Celestefocuses on Madeline overcoming outside obstacles and her own internal voice as she makes her way up challenging levels.

2Mirror’s Edge
It’s good to look to the past to compare certain games, and withNeon White, the one game that is hard not to think about when running around on rooftops isMirror’s Edge. The classic EA game from the late-2000s is all about moving quickly and avoiding enemies.
The protagonist ofMirror’s Edgeis Faith Connors, whose job is to transport messages across the city while government agents attempt to hunt her down and stop her. The game has a lot of elements that are similar toNeon Whitesuch as moving quickly across platformsin first-personto becoming armed to take down bad guys in a quick manner.

1Ghostrunner
When playingNeon White, running through levels and taking down enemies in one hit sounds like an absolute blast. Those looking to recapture that feeling after beating the game should probably check outGhostrunner, which has a very similar gameplay loop based in a cyberpunk setting.
As Jack, the player is presented with levels where they will need to maneuver their way through while dealing with the threat of death after getting hit once. Luckily, the enemies can die just as quickly. The skillset provided to Jack inGhostrunnerincludes jumping off of walls and using a grappling technique to pull himself to new platforms.
