Specifically, it has a collection of new animations that can play when inspecting the melee weapon. These unique animations were recently highlighted in a YouTube video created byApex Legendscontent creator, The Gaming Merchant.
The first animation in the YouTube video showed Wraith throwing her Kunai Knife into the air, where it disappeared into the void before returning several seconds later. Following this animation, the Legend proceeded to open a folder showing what appeared to be Wattson’s case file, along with a picture of her and Wattson pinned to the top of the document. In addition, there was a note that read, “My favorite ghost,” which was likely a reference to a time in theApex Legendslorewhen Wattson thought Wraith was a ghost. Beyond these impressive animations, there was one that had Wraith wiping away sweat from her forehead, while another showed her killing a fly with her blade.
In addition to these animations, other fans have discovered what appears to be a possible recolor of Wraith’s Kunai Knife. According to an image shared by KralRindo on Twitter, this heirloom recolor is called “Hope’s Dawn” and replaces the signature blue glow of the melee weapon with an orange one. Unlike the new animations for the Kunai Knife, it is currently unclear when this recolor will become available in the battle royale and how it will be obtainable.
While Respawn did not include details about these changes in the Season 16 patch notes, previous leaks clued gamers in on the possibility of an update. With these new animations for Wraith now live, it will be interesting to see which othercharacters on theApex Legendsrosterget updates to their Heirlooms in the future. Regardless, these new animations will make Wraith a more compelling option to spend Heirloom Shards on for those fortunate enough to collect them.
