Though the manybold changes thatOverwatch 2has made to its gameplay loopover the years has driven the game’s experience to be something quite different to that which is offered byTeam Fortress 2, the foundational similarities seen throughout the two games' history has brought both communities together to some extent. A recent tweet from renowned voice actor Robin Atkin Downes, the voice of the Medic inTeam Fortress 2, had fans excited about a potential crossover between the two character-based FPS titles. The actor tagged bothOverwatch 2andTeam Fortress 2in the tweet and used the term “Uber Healing,” which references bothTeam Fortress 2’s Ubercharge andOverwatch 2’s healing mechanics.

TheTeam Fortress 2voice actor later followed up with another tweet, announcing a collaboration between himself and the voice actress ofOverwatch 2’s Mercy, Lucie Pohl, on Streamily. This event is labeled “Medic meets Mercy TF2 x Overwatch 2 crossover signing” on the site, and will feature the two voice artists doing a crossover signing in a livestream scheduled for August 30th at 11pm PDT on Instagram. Fans may recognize countlesssimilar events organized by theTeam Fortress 2voice actorin the past, though whether this is one-off event or a sign of greater things to come is yet to be determined.

After all,Overwatch 2seems eager to dive into crossoverswith other franchises, with the game’s collaboration withOne-Punch Manbeing a prime example of this.
