AsAmong Usenthusiasts embarked on an exciting new adventure into the newfungus-infested realm of The Fungle, they were treated to several new features and ways to keep crewmates on their toes. Along their journey, they may have come across small mushrooms scattered across The Jungle. When struck, these mushrooms emit spores into the air and form amushroom cloudwith a unique ability for crewmates and impostors.
Players ofAmong Ushave found there is much to discuss when it comes tomushroom cloudsas they add a layer of intrigue and obscurity to the already complex game of strategy and deception. Explore how this new feature can alter the game’s landscape and create opportunities for clever deception.

What Is A Mushroom Cloud
Mushroom cloudsare an effect exclusive to The Fungle map inAmong Us. While some players are enjoying riding the new zipline back and forth, others find themselves strangely fascinated with the bottom area of the map known as the Jungle. This location is shrouded in mystery as well as some oversized plants, fungi, and minerals. Many may have glossed over the sight of little green mushrooms littered across the Jungle floor in a location that has so much to offer, but no one can miss what happens when they’re activated.
When the mushroom has been triggered, it opens up and emits a cloud of purple spores into the air which lowers visibility for everyone in the area.Players can only see their characterwhile they are in the mushroom cloud. The rest of the crew members are momentarily invisible.

How To Trigger The Mushroom Cloud
Players must first locate The Jungle on The Fungle map and then find the green mushrooms on the floor. There are a total of eight green mushrooms that trigger mushroom clouds. They can be found next to the Laboratory, under The Dorm, around the Greenhouse, and near the Reactor. Step on them or run across them to trigger themushroom cloudto lower visibility.
This effect only lasts for five seconds but can change the entire course of the game, giving impostors the ability tokill or vent undetected. The cloud and the mushroom will disappear after the five seconds are up. The mushroom will then reappear, sprouting out of the ground about ten seconds later, ready to be activated again.
Many may find it entertaining to step on these mushrooms at any given chance. While the satisfying pop of the mushroom can be quite funny and rather addicting, players should be advised to only use the mushrooms when it is convenient for their gameplay.
When Should You Use Mushroom Clouds
Mushroom clouds prove to be very useful for impostors. Much like the new mushroom mixup sabotage, impostors can now make moves while they are virtually anonymous. Trigger the mushroom when the targeted crewmate victim is in the vicinity to kill while themushroom cloudshrouds identities. Create amushroom cloudnear a Venus Fly Trap to vent without any other players knowing. This ability is also useful for breaking up groups. The last thing impostors want isa group of crewmateswho can vouch for each other’s innocence.
Impostors are not the only ones who benefit frommushroom clouds. If crewmates are being followed by a suspicious individual, they can step on the green mushrooms to misdirect the impostor and run to safety. Striking mushrooms is also great for trolls who just want to goof around and cause confusion. Just because someone activates the clouddoes not make them sus.
