Call of Duty: Vanguardfans have an impressive 20 multiplayer maps to look forward to. While only a few of these locations have been officially revealed by Sledgehammer Games, theCall of Duty: Vanguardbetahas been heavily datamined. As such, players now have the full list of maps that will be available in the game’s multiplayer, and it seems like they can expect a few remakes on launch day.
In total, there are six potential remakes that have been listed forCall of Duty: Vanguard. Two of these have been officially confirmed, while the rest are leaked and subject to change. Intriguingly, half of these remade maps come fromCall of Duty: World at War, which was arguably the most popular World War 2-eraCall of Dutygame. As such, while all the potential remakes are promising, fans are particularly hyped to play on some more visually impressive versions of the World at War classics.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s World At War Map Remakes - Dome, Castle, And Sub Pens
Call of Duty: Vanguardbeing set in World War 2 makes it the perfect candidate forCall of Duty: World at Warremakes. Sledgehammer Games will be able to keep the same overall aesthetic of each map, with the weaponry and character models suiting the remade locations. WhileCall of Duty: World at Warfeatured many great maps, something that could lead to more remakes coming in the post-launch Seasons ofCall of Duty: Vanguard, the confirmed locations see two of the very best play spaces returning.
The firstCall of Duty: World at Warmap that is confirmed to be getting a remake is Dome. Like its name suggests, most of the fighting occurs inside of a massive circular area on top of the Reichstag. This gives it a completely different flow from the usual three-lane map design that is seen intheCall of Dutyfranchise, and the fighting that can happen by the cannons outside of the building is usually intense. There are some upper floors as well, and with the staircase being so easy to defend, players often camp out here with an ally watching their back.
The other confirmedCall of Duty: Vanguardmap remake is Castle. Like its name suggests, the map is set in an instantly recognizable Japanese fortress. The wooden interiors of the castle itself could lead to some great use ofCall of Duty: Vanguard’s destruction mechanics, with Sledgehammer letting players destroy the interior of the building in the remake. The red archways give the outdoor areas personality, while the many vantage points help make ranged playstyles more viable. Based on the brief glimpse of the remade map, it looks like it could be one of the most visually stunning maps in the game.
The finalCall of Duty: World at Warmap that could possibly be getting remade is Sub Pen. Part of the recent set ofCall of Duty: Vanguardleaksthat revealed everything from achievements to campaign mission names, fans are unsure of whether Sub Pen will be a remake or a new map with a reused name. Dome, for example, was a completely different map inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, yet it shares the same name as theWorld at Warmap that is being remade forVanguard. Assuming that this leaked map is indeed aWorld at Warremake, though, players will be fighting inside of a sub base that is surrounded by water. A massive submarine sits in the center of the map, with the battles taking place around it.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Other Map Remakes - Shipment, Oasis, And London Docks
While it may not have fans as excited as a properCall of Duty: World at Warremake or sequel, the appearances of three classic maps inCall of Duty: Vanguardis promising. The remakes do not end with the 2008 classic, however. A map that originated inCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfarehas been leaked, as has a location fromCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. With aCall of Duty: WW2location leaking, too, there could be a decent number of remakes in this year’sCall of Dutygame.
Perhaps the most exciting leak has to do with Shipment, as the classicCall of Duty 4: Modern Warfaremap is supposedly set to return once again. Incredibly popular due to its role as one of the smallest maps in the series, players fight around some stacked shipping containers. With everyone spawning so close together, every match is hectic, and every player is guaranteed a high kill game. However, it will be interesting to seewhat form Shipment takeswhen it returns. It could have the format of the original map or the re-imagining seen inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare2019. Like Shipment’s appearance inCall of Duty: WW2, it could also get a visual redesign to better fit the 1940s.
Oasis is also listed on the leaked map list, and the name will only be familiar to hardcoreCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3fans. This is because it was a DLC map for that game, meaning it lacks the popularity of something like Shipment. Still, it did have a unique visual style, as it was set around a luxurious Dubai hotel. While some things would need to be changed to fit an older era, this could be a fun map to see return.
However, of all the leaked maps, players should be the least confident in Oasis making a comeback. As of now, there is a 50/50 chance that this is a situation likeMW3’s Dome, with Sledgehammer reusing the Oasis name for an entirely new map. While other DLC maps have been remastered, like Zoo andDrive-In forCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it is more common to see remasters of the popular launch maps. This is because more players had the chance to play them, meaning that the nostalgia hits harder. With it also likely to be far easier to remake something from a World War 2-focused game than fully redesigning a modern-day location, there is a chance that Oasis is simply a reused name for a brand-new desert map of some kind.
The final leaked map isLondon Docks fromCall of Duty: WW2. One of the most popular maps from the 2017 game, players had a lot of fun fighting on the low-level docks and the slightly raised city. The map could do some neat things withCall of Duty: Vanguard’s destruction, letting amers cause further damage to an already destroyed city. Supposedly, this map will drop in Season 1, making it the only rumored remake that will not be ready on launch day. Still, with 4-5 remakes seemingly coming on day one, fans of old schoolCall of Dutymaps have a lot to be excited about.
