Summary
There is a lot of new content forDiablo 4players to uncover in the Season of the Malignant update beyond just the new seasonal quest line. The latest update forDiablo 4also added new unique quality items as well as seven new legendary aspects for players to enhance their gear with. To obtain the new class-specific aspects players will need to complete Chapter 1 of their Season 1 journey, but they will need to complete Chapters 5 and 6 to unlock the others, so players looking to revitalize their gear loadout should prioritize completing the seasonal chapters as quickly as possible.
While everylegendary item inDiablo 4comes with its own legendary effect already affixed to the piece of gear, players can also use legendary aspects to imprint these effects on their chosen piece of rare quality gear. Typically, legendary aspects are obtained by completing dungeons and adding their associated aspect to the Codex of Power, or by extracting the aspect from another legendary piece of gear.Diablo 4Season 1 is also granting players copies of legendary aspects through its seasonal journey usually only found through random drops.

Aspect of Audacity
The Aspect of Audacity is one of two new seasonal legendary aspects that can be applied to gear for any class and is only obtainable after completingDiablo 4Season 1 Chapter 6. It is a utility aspect that can be applied to any piece of armor or accessory, including Shields, and grants the player the ability to Stun Close enemies for 2–4 seconds whenever there are five or more within range. Although this ability only activates once every 20 seconds, it can be quite useful overall for aiding in crowd control and getting out of tricky situations like being overwhelmed with enemies in aNightmare Dungeonor Helltide.
Craven Aspect
The other of the two universal legendary aspects added inDiablo 4’s Season 1 is the Craven Aspect, which is only available after the player completes Chapter 5 of the season. Like the Aspect of Audacity, this aspect is also a utility aspect, but can only be applied to Boots and Amulets, granting the player a 20–40 percent movement speed increase when moving away from Slowed or Chilled enemies. This aspect seems like it would work well on an Ice Sorcerer build orFrost Archer Rogue buildwhere enemies will frequently be afflicted with the Chilled status and the player will need to be constantly moving with a frail class.
Aspect of Ancestral Charge
Diablo 4Barbariansgain access to the Aspect of Ancestral Charge when completing Season 1 Chapter 1, and it is the only new Barbarian-specific legendary aspect introduced this season. It can be applied to One and Two-Handed Weapons, as well as Gloves, Amulets, and Rings, and doing so allows the Barbarian’s Charge skill to summon four Ancients who also charge and deal 50–100 percent of the base damage. For Barbarians running Charge on their build, this can be a great aspect for increasing both the range of the skill and the damage it deals to larger groups of enemies, giving it solid crowd control potential with Charge’s Knockback effect.

Subterranean Aspect
The new legendary aspect forDiablo 4Druids is the Subterranean Aspect which is also obtained after completing Season 1 Chapter 1. The Subterranean Aspect can be applied to One- and Two-Handed Weapons as well as Gloves, Amulets, and Rings, and it allows the Druid’s Poison Creeper Skill to also activate Landslide when used and gives Earth Skills an additional 10–20 percent damage dealt to Poisoned enemies. This legendary aspect has a lot of strong potential for Druids running Poison-based builds like the Toxic Shredder Werewolf or theLandslide Druidas stacking damage on top of Poison can make for a deadly combination.
Aspect of Gore Quills
Necromancers gain access to the class-specific Aspect of Gore Quills after completing Chapter 1 ofDiablo 4’s Season of the Malignant. Like other offensive aspects, this aspect can be applied to One- and Two-Handed Weapons, Gloves, Rings, and Amulets, and allows the Necromancer’s Blood Lance Skill to consume Blood Orbs in order to conjure additional Blood Lances from them that deal 20–50 percent base damage and prioritize targeting un-lanced enemies. This legendary aspect has the potential to make one of themost powerfulDiablo 4Necromancer buildseven more powerful as the Blood Lance Skill is already one of the Necromancer’s best, and being able to spawn more only ups the damage it can do.
Aspect of Pestilent Points
The new class-specific legendary aspect forDiablo 4Roguesis simple but effective as it can enhance one of the Rogue’s Basic Skills and make it much more potent. The Aspect of Pestilent Points can be applied to One and Two-Handed Weapons, Gloves, Rings, and Amulets, and it applies Poison Imbue to every third shot of the Rogue’s Puncture Skill with 100–150 percent potency. With Puncture being a Basic Skill for Rogues, this aspect can be a great way to consistently dish out Poison damage to enemies without having to wait for cooldowns on skills like Poison Trap and Poison Imbuement since this aspect automatically applies Poison to the skill.
Aspect of Searing Wards
Although Fire builds are not ideal forDiablo 4Sorcerers, their new legendary aspect, the Aspect of Searing Wards, can make theSorcerer’s Firewall Skillquite versatile. Despite being an offensive aspect, the Aspect of Searing Wards can only be applied to Helms, Chest Armor, Pants, and Amulets, which may be due to the defensive utility of its effect which grants a free cast of Firewall after spending 100–200 Mana, and this Firewall will also block incoming Small Missiles. Firewall typically is used to engulf enemies in flames and deal Burning damage, but this aspect gives the skill a new defensive twist by also allowing it to block some projectiles and help with the Sorcerer’s survivability.
Diablo 4is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
