Morbiusis a fairly simple plot if boiled down to the basics. This is aMarvelcomic, after all, and they are less than complex for the most part. The main character, Dr. Michael Morbius, is plagued by a rare blood disease. He, and his best friend Milo, who also has the same disease, can reach the heights of adulthood. However, they don’t have much time left.

This leads Michael on a journey to discover a cure for this disease. It works, but turns Michael into a vampire in the process. He doesn’t want to kill people, but he can’t control it either. Will he succumb to his hunger or figure out a way to find peace inMorbius? ThisSpider-Manspinoff movie has some senseless things in it as well as one or two major cliffhangers.
8Which Universe Does This Take Place In Exactly?
This might be the most biting question fans have withMorbius. There are a lot of things in the movie itself that point to it taking place in multiple universes. The trailers, which have missing or alternate scenes in the theatrical cut, often paint very different pictures as well.
For example, Michael can be seen running past a Spider-Man graffiti on a wall that looks like Tobey Maguire’s version. Is this the same universe as the newVenommovies since Michael calls himself that? That would not make sense if this wasthe Toby universe. There are too many questions.
7Where Did Toomes Get His gear From?
Adrian Toomes, aka The Vulture, comes fromthe MCU proper. Why then was he pulled into whatever universeMorbiustakes place in? The magic should have placed everyone back into their universes. Eddie Brock and Venom get transported out of the MCU by the end ofSpider-Man: No Way Home, for example, along with the two versions of the webslinger and their villains.
What makes Adrian Toomes so special? Also, where does he get his gear from if he goes from his jail in the MCU to theMorbiusuniverse’s jail? It seems unlikely that he could have made a new suit given his incarceration and his unfamiliarity with theMorbiusuniverse.
6Did Anyone Else Besides Dr. Bancroft Come Back?
One of the funniest lines in Morbius belongs to Detective Rodriguez. He makes a comment to his partner that vampires love to multiply. Inmost vampire flicks, comics, books, and games, vampirism is spread through bites. It would make sense in Morbius to have seen every victim come back from the dead then.

However, only Michael and Milo are seen throughout the movie as vampires. That is until Dr. Bancroft is bitten. Her eyes opening is one of the last things to happen before the credits roll. Is she special somehow or did the other victims come back too offscreen?
5Morbius’ Control Of Bats
Thepowers of Draculachange from adaptation to adaption. One of his most classic powers from the original work sees him have domain over animals such as bats and wolves. He can even transform into one of the winged vermin when needed.
Michael does not have the transformation power inMorbius. However, he can control bats as his final power to overthrow Milo. That’s not the weird thing about this scene, however. It’s where did the bats come from. Are they all just New York City bats or is the audience supposed to believe that these bats were the ones in Michael’s lab. If that is the case, then how did they all break free at the exact right moment?
4Why Wasn’t Milo Searched Before Entering The Prison?
To prevent convicts from escaping prison, most faculties check visitors before they enter and once again upon their departure. It doesn’t matter if they are a family member or a lawyer. If they are a lawyer, like Milo poses as, then surely they must have their papers checked too.
Not only does Milo get away with his lawyer disguise, but he can also sneak in a flask full of blood as well as a blood bag for Michael. How did no one check him? This is supposed to be a detention center for terrorists. Also, why did Milohide his vampirismfrom Michael? Just so Michael would break out and give chase?
3Milo And Morbius Are Terrible Detectives
The powers Michael and Milo have inMorbiusseemingly change on a dime. Sometimes, Milo And Michael can hear each other, and sometimes they can’t. The plot can overall be reduced to a simple game of cat and mouse.

Both of them are trying to find each other. Michael wantsto stop vampiresfrom becoming a thing and Milo wants the population to evolve. Sometimes, they can be miles away and still find each other, while others they need to locate someone else to get to the other. For example, Milo uses Dr. Bancroft to lure out Michael. It doesn’t fully add up.
2Why Did The Counterfeiters Not Go Back?
One of the oddest parts of the movie has Michael take over a money counterfeiting operation. He needs a lab to work in and they mostly have the gear he needs. All it takes for these goons to run away is for Michael to break the leader’s hand.
He doesn’t even turn intoa scary vampire. Michael breaks the boss' hand and everyone else just kind of flees without a second thought. None of them come back to reclaim the lab either, which was arguably even stranger.
1Dr. Nicholas’ Death
One of the worst things Milo does in the movie is to kill his father figure, Dr. Nicholas. The good doctor isn’t killed immediately, however. He had enough time to call Michael. This means he had enough time to call an ambulance too, but he doesn’t.
Dr. Nicholas can stay alive just long enough to tell Michael that Milo did it and that he needs to stop him. Michael already knew he had to defeat Milo, so this moment didn’t really add anything toMorbius. It’s a tired cliche in movies to see heroic characters die only after delivering an obvious message.
